It is usually the last week of December or the first week of January travel bloggers post their plans for the upcoming year.

Unpacking: 7 – 13 February 2016

So, this week has mostly consisted of work (shocker) and me getting awfully excited about my upcoming trip to New York.

I haven’t planned anything, but I managed to sort out my ESTA. That’s something.

5 romantic places in Northern Ireland

Love is in the air!

As are all the overpriced Valentine’s menus promising  romantic ambience with that special someone over the Valentine’s period.

I think there’s more to romance than being squeezed into a room where you are touching elbows with the stranger beside you and have you use the torch on your phone to read the menu.

Cambodian Chicken Fried Rice

The staple of any backpacker’s diet in south-east Asia is fried rice. On the days when you’re feeling flashy, you ask for it with chicken.

I won’t lie, after coming home, I couldn’t look at rice for a long time.  Thankfully, I eventually got over this.

With the help of Lynas Food Outlet and their provision of some ingredients (including an industrial size bag of rice), I managed to pull together the strength to recreate a dish I ate in many a seaside restaurant.

Hello from The Sarah Story HQ!

I hate to be dull, but this last week largely consisted of work. *yawn* to most but I learned a lot and enjoyed myself.
