Stand out deaths from The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead is one of the biggest television shows around currently. It is up there with Game of Thrones with its large, hardcore fan base.

Avid comic book fans watch the show to see if it compares to the graphic novel. Usually on a show, a character death occurs on the season or mid-season finale. This is certainly not the case for The Walking Dead; you have no idea when that next walker is going to take someone out.

I have summarised the deaths that stand out for me the most.  (Oh, there are spoilers!)

Shane

Everyone loved Shane at the beginning. I found myself rooting for him, but as the post-apocalyptic world took over, Shane changed. I was not sorry to see him go.

Lori

Again, by the time Lori breathed her last, I was rather fed up with her as a character. I will not complain too much, however, as her death brought Judith’s life…and everyone loves baby Judith.

Hershel

When the Governor put an end to Hershel, I was surprised and not surprised at the same time. He was one of the good guys and the good guys are supposed to survive, right? Wrong, and poor Maggie and Beth were left to pick up the pieces.

Lizzie

“Look at the flowers…..”

One of the more controversial deaths on the series so far. Whatever way it is looked at, the equivalent in the comic book was much darker.

Beth

This one was horrible; it is the first time since watching The Red Wedding (Game of Thrones) that a television show caused my jaw to drop. Beth’s death shocked everyone, and even Andrew Lincoln (Rick) had to take some time out during filming to cry. Daryl’s reaction to this would melt the hardest of hearts.

These deaths are the most memorable for me, but Into The Blue have noted all the major deaths in The Walking Dead:
