The weekend of June 20 and 21 brought the first Fermanagh Food Festival. This excited me, more than it should have because I am used to attending similar events all over Northern Ireland. However, this is a first for Fermanagh! It’s great to see Fermanagh hosting a large event, and I hope that it becomes a regular occurrence.
I find that afternoon tea is the one time in my life I get to properly feel sophisticated. Maybe it’s the dainty sandwiches, or drinking from a tea cup. I get to feel a more refined human being for an hour or two.
When at home in Fermanagh, the Lough Erne is always my first choice for afternoon tea. I’ve always found a homely element to this hotel (there’s always a turf fire burning), not to mention it’s beautiful grounds. I was delighted when my cousin offered to take my Grandmother and myself there one afternoon.
It’s been a LONG time since I wrote about where I am, and in that time a lot has happened. I have had a lot of wonderful moments, but also some lower moments . Here is a little summary of where I have spent my time in Australia so far:

I haven’t written for a while and a lot has happened in that time. My original plan was to fly to Bangkok and take it from there. Well. I’m not there. I’m not even in south-east Asia. I’m writing this from Sydney, Australia!
So, what happened? One day I was browsing jobs abroad and noticed hotel management positions in European ski resorts. Ten days later, I arrived in Geneva and was on a bus to the top resort of Courchevel, France. View Post
This is my first ever blog post, so I should start at the beginning. I’m Sarah, and I really am a small town girl. I am from a small village in rural Northern Ireland. More recently, I have been living in ‘the big smoke’, otherwise known as Belfast.
I recently made a decision to jet off and see some of this wonderful world. Since making this decision, people have asked me why I want to do this. Why I didn’t do it when I was younger. Why I waited to over a year after I graduated to make the plunge. Why this point in my life.
There are many reasons why I am doing this : View Post
