Sarah Explores: Cuilcagh Mountain

Hidden in the depths of Northern Ireland’s most beautiful county is Cuilcagh Mountain. So stunning, it could easily be mistaken as part of The Lord of the Rings set. The mountain sits on the border between counties Fermanagh and Cavan and is a UNESCO Global Geopark.

Sarah Eats: Taphouse, Enniskillen

(For some time, I have wanted to give more in-depth reviews of where I eat and spend my time and so, ‘Sarah Eats’ has arrived.  Everywhere I write about is somewhere I personally recommend and enjoyed spending time there.)

It’s always exciting and a cause for conversation, when a new restaurant opens in your local area, or when an existing one is refurbished.

Taphouse is Enniskillen’s newest gastro pub. Previously, Squires, it was well loved for classic dishes and its ‘just out of town with great space for parking’ location.

5 romantic places in Northern Ireland

Love is in the air!

As are all the overpriced Valentine’s menus promising  romantic ambience with that special someone over the Valentine’s period.

I think there’s more to romance than being squeezed into a room where you are touching elbows with the stranger beside you and have you use the torch on your phone to read the menu.

The spookiest places in Northern Ireland

I am not a fan of Hallowe’en – the most excited I get is when I go to the Monster Mash in Titanic Quarter, Belfast for the fireworks. Saying that, it is always fun to get a little creeped out. When browsing the internet earlier, I came across an infographic by Blue Chip Holidays listing the most ‘spooktacular’  places to visit in the UK. I was disappointed to see that Northern Ireland had been bypassed completely. This got me thinking, and I came up with a list of spooky places in my home country.
