Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
Well, that is until you get hungry again. Breakfast is the meal that sets you up for the day; it can make or break your mood. I have had many a cranky day due a pitiful half bowl of Cornflakes early on.
I love going out for breakfast and finding new places to go to. When I was invited to check out the new breakfast menu at The Errigle I was surprised. Pubs aren’t exactly known for having early morning breakfast menus (unless you’re that rather large British chain).
I went along with Laura, Jools, Shannon to see that the Errigle had to offer our taste buds.
As I was taking my seat, I was asked if I wanted to start with come coffee. That is the perfect beginning to any breakfast.
The menu is varied; the Ulster Fry comes in two sizes and there are lighter dishes if you don’t find your appetite until later in the day.
Obviously, I opted for the large fry. I keep saying I’ll have something different when I go out for breakfast but I find nothing comes close. The other girls had Eggs Benedict and pancakes with bacon.
The fry was large and it was exactly what I needed to set me up for the day. It was neither greasy nor dry and would keep anyone happy. I was especially delightyed as they didn’t break with Ulster Fry tradition and put (yucky) beans on the plate.
Going to the Errigle for breakfast was better than I expected. There is a cosy atmosphere, helped along by the fires playing on the television screens (it was too warm to have the real fire on!).
It was a great morning spending time talking with friends and eating good food (oh, the coffee goes down easily too). I predict it will not be too long before I make another visit…
*A big thanks to Laura for being the photographer on the day*
