Unpacking: 24 – 30 January 2016

It’s been a relatively quiet week at The Sarah Story. All for good reason of course….

I got LASIK. My eyes were zapped. I’ve been scaring children all week with my crazy eyes, so I’m happy enough to share a selfie with you.

Sorry to scare you all!

It wasn’t sore at the time, but once the anaesthetic drops wore off, I was in pain. It was only for around an hour but for that hour I was curled up in a ball wondering why I went through the madness. I’m still adjusting to not being short-sighted; I keep bringing things to my face to read them better.

It is blissful not having to wear (bent) glasses all the time.

Before the lasers descended upon me, I had the opportunity to take part in a Titanic day for Northern Ireland Citizens Day. Thousands of free tickets were made available to Northern Irish folk for Titanic Belfast and the SS Nomadic. I paid £3 to visit the dry dock and pump house.

I wasn’t allowed to run this week, but I did visit the cinema to see The Big Short.

You’re going to think I love every film I watch (I really don’t, I promise). In reality, it is awards season and this is when all the quality films are on the big screen.

Anyway, The Big Short is a top film all round. I won’t go into detail as the topic is current, but you should see it. It will make you think. It will probably scare you a bit.

Like I said, this week is quiet. Next week will hopefully see me doing a little bit more. Impulsive Sarah might even book a flight to her favourite place….. maybe.
