Another week; another unpacking.
These posts seem to be the only posts I have written over the past few weeks. It’s making me sad but I really am struggling to fit everything in. I feel like I have finally caught up on the ‘New York backlog’ but my workload has generally increased and it makes it so difficult to get time to write.
I have so much to write about as well. New York, food, coffee and adventures closer to home. I keep saying “I’ll have time this week” and then I don’t. My fingers are crossed this week.
This week I took in the fresh country air walking up the Divis/Black Mountains. There are many paths there giving you plenty of choice depending on how adventurous you may or may not be feeling.
The views over Belfast Lough and harbour areas make it very serene to find a rock and watch the comings and goings of the boats and even the planes into George Best Belfast City Airport.
I also attented my second event of Northern Ireland Science Festival with Laura (but not before we visited Miel et Moi for some tea and goodies). The event was named Gulp: The Science of Food and it had a focus on the future of food.
The event began with a little trick that could not fool our Laura! Kudos.
This week I also brought Bex to visit Ground Espresso at Sprucefield, Lisburn. It seems I am never out of the place, but this week we got to taste each of the smoothies on the menu.
While I would (probably) never choose a smoothie over a coffee or cup of Suki tea, the smoothies were lovely. I found it difficult to choose my favourite, however ‘Broccoli and the Beast’ is a pretty cool name!
This week it has been rather quiet on the movie front for me (you know I’m busy when I don’t go to the cinema two weeks in a row…), but Sunday night was Oscar night.
It hit me that I’ve been staying up to watch the awards for 14 years! I was very pleased to pick out Spotlight as the Best Picture; a surprise to many!
Big news on the running front; I finally purchased a Fitbit Surge! There are so many statistics available with it and I am already obsessed!
I got to use it while running for the first time at parkrun, clocking in a time of 25:04 (at Enniskillen). I’m excited to see how the watch works when I am on the dreadmill midweek!
Have a wonderful week!
